How to Get Your Images Removed From Telegram (and Why It's Harder Here)

Don't delete anything. Screenshot each post with the t.me link and timestamp visible, report the message and channel inside Telegram, and email abuse@telegram.org. If it isn't removed within 48 hours, file a federal complaint at takeitdown.ftc.gov.

Telegram has no dedicated NCII reporting form and doesn't participate in StopNCII or NCMEC's Take It Down. Removal is reactive; you report a specific post, and banned accounts often reappear under new names within hours. This is a documented pattern, not bad luck: Telegram was central to South Korea's Nth Room case, and researchers have mapped organized non-consensual image networks with tens of thousands of users and files on the platform.

Save evidence with screenshots showing the t.me link, date, and time. Report inside Telegram by tapping and holding, or right-clicking, a message or channel, then choosing Report. Email abuse@telegram.org with the exact links and a statement that the content is non-consensual. Start the 48-hour clock once you send a valid request, and escalate to the FTC if it's still up.

StopNCII.org (18+) and Take It Down/NCMEC don't reach Telegram, but they help block copies on the roughly 20 platforms that do participate. You can also ask Google to remove non-consensual images from search results.

If you took the image yourself, you own the copyright and can send a DMCA notice to dmca@telegram.org, which gives Telegram a clear legal reason to remove it even without acting on the NCII report.
