Around 1 in 5 adults have experienced image-based sexual abuse, and more than 1 in 3 never report it. From our work in the field, we believe that around 90% of survivors of sexual exploitation have also experienced image-based sexual abuse. A survivor can escape their trafficker and still not escape the images: they stay online, searchable and re-shared, used to re-traffick, extort, and silence. For years, the honest answer was not much can be done. That's no longer true.

Images stay encrypted and unreadable
A survivor's images are stored only in encrypted, unreadable form, never in a way anyone can view. The moment an image reaches us it's encrypted with its own key, and that key is sealed by a master key that never leaves tamper-proof hardware. We also hash images (like creating a digital fingerprint) to help prevent re-uploads.
No one views images without permission
Most matches are handled without anyone viewing anything. When a match needs confirmation, the survivor reviews it, blurred, with only their face revealed. Our support team is intentionally women-only and views content only with the survivor's explicit permission.
The survivor stays in control
They create their own digital identity, choose what to submit for removal, and can delete their account and data at any time.
We act as their representative
We sign and send takedown notices on the survivor's behalf, so they never contact the sites themselves, shielding their identity from platforms that pair images with personal details to harass.

How access works: Takedowns for known links are always free. Founding partners receive a founding-year allotment of scanning at no cost for the survivors they serve. Beyond that, scanning is offered at cost, with no profit to us. Our sister nonprofit funds free access for partners who need it, and resourced partners help fund that access for others, so no survivor is priced out.
